Try Out Application   
 

The Wildcats will be holding our official try out for the 2011 team during the months of December 2010 and January 2011.  Please fill out this application immediately if you are interested in trying out for our team so that we can get you on our e-mail list.  Before filling out the try out application, be sure to read the requirements below for being a member of the Wheaton Wildcats.  We will only accept people to try out for our team if you are serious about playing championship-level competitive baseball and can commit to ALL of the following requirements:

1.  The fee for a new player in 2011 has not been set yet, and it will depend on the number of players on the team.  To give you an idea, the fee for new players in 2010 was $400, and we do not anticipate this fluctuating too much.  The fee for a new player has never been higher than $400.  The fee includes all of the league fees, team fees, and the full uniform that is yours to keep.  The fee goes down after the first year (anywhere from $300 - $350 for returning players in the past).  The reason for the higher fee in your first season is because you must purchase the full uniform.  The fee is good for one full season.

2.  Regular season games are played on Saturdays and Sundays (one of the two days EVERY weekend) from mid-April through the first weekend in September.  Players are expected to be at all the games.  It is understandable if one or two are missed with advanced notice, but the team depends on every player being there at every game.

3.  Playoffs are played throughout the entire month of September, also on the weekends.  There are two or three consecutive rounds (depending on the size of the league), played on consecutive weekends (barring weather postponements), each of which is a three-game series spanning BOTH weekend days.  During the playoffs, ALL players are expected to be there for EVERY game on BOTH weekend days!

4.  Practices will be held on Wednesday evenings each week (usually 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM).  Players are highly encouraged to come to practice, but it is not mandatory.  We understand that people have work, school, and other important commitments. Ultimately, playing time decisions will be based on game performance and attitude.

5.  If you are selected to play on the team, there will be a $100 non-refundable deposit due immediately upon selection from the try out in order to hold your spot on the team.  The rest of your team fee will be due in the following weeks.
